Michael Dunn's appeal for murder, attempted murder denied

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The man convicted of killing a 17-year-old in an argument over loud music at a Southside gas station was denied his appeal on a conviction for murder and attempted murder.

Michael Dunn shot and killed Jordan Davis in 2012.

Dunn's appeal for first-degree murder and three convictions of attempted second-degree murder was denied.

The Davis family released a statement:

"We want to thank the lawyers, judges, justices and everyone else who worked on getting justice for our son Jordan. We are happy to have a bit more closure just shy of the fourth anniversary of his death. Every single day is still a challenge and we still have work to do to reshape minds, policy and laws in this country. But today we focus on justice and the outpouring of love we are receiving. Thank you." - Ron Davis & Lucy McBath
