A mother who lost her son to gun violence, and was grateful for tonight’s turnout told Action News Jax that days don’t get easier since her son was killed in 2017. The person who pulled the trigger has yet to be found.

The Unity Rally and Walk on Friday night was held in the Riverside area to honor the lives lost to gun violence.

Everyone was encouraged to wear orange at tonight’s event. Event organizer Katie Hathaway said the idea comes from the wear orange campaign, which asks everyone in America who wants gun violence to end to wear orange on National Gun Violence Awareness Day.
