A Fernandina Beach couple gave birth to their baby boy -- named Yadin -- on Tuesday.
Action News Jax first told you about Yadin last month when he was found to have congenital diaphragmatic hernia -- a birth defect in which the diaphragm isn't closed all the way.
The couple refused to terminate the pregnancy. Instead, they found a specialist in St. Petersburg named Dr. David Kays who told them the baby had an excellent chance of survival.
His mother Emily says she and the baby are doing well. Baby Yadin has been through three surgeries within 24 hours of being born.
The community has rallied around the family and raised money to help with costs of the surgery that Yadin needs. A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family.
