Harvey was heading east on Amelia Concourse near the intersection of Old Nassauville Road where a woman was attempting to make a left turn, the warrant states. That’s when Harvey’s 2010 Ford Flex collided with the woman’s 2016 Lincoln MKZ.
Both vehicles slid 85 feet into an adjacent tree line, the warrant says, and Nassau County Fire Rescue pronounced the woman deceased.
Harvey was pulled from the vehicle with injuries and told NCFR, “I just wanted to kill myself, I didn’t want to kill anyone else.”
According to witnesses, Harvey was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at a red light.
The event data recorder from his vehicle revealed there was no indication that Harvey engaged the brakes or attempted to evade the crash.
Based on these findings, Harvey was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide.
