Nassau woman urges drivers to avoid bedazzling steering wheel

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. — An expression of creativity on a Nassau County woman’s steering wheel could have turned deadly.

“I just thought it was cute,” Logan Brown said about her bedazzled steering wheel emblem. But after she got in a crash A1A outside of Yulee, cute turned to scary. “I was like, ‘man that hurts really bad right there. I just thought it was a broken bone.”

The sparkling display shed light on a concern. Doctors found about an inch of the bedazzled emblem lodged into her arm after her airbag deployed from the crash.

“it could’ve hit me in my throat, my chest. Thank God my arm was there to protect the rest of my body,” she said.

A quick search of bedazzled steering wheel emblems leads to dozens of results. Brown said she’s using her scary incident to send a message to others: take them off.

“I just thought of all the other little girls that have it.”
