JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A group of retired Navy SEALs are traveling 1,000 miles down the East Coast to help raise awareness and fund neuromuscular injuries.
The group is called Beyond the Teams and they're made up of five retired Navy SEALs members raising money for new equipment for the VIP NeuroRehabilitation Center in San Diego.

They want to help purchase a new machine that helps people with mobility issues be able to walk.
The money they raise will also help pay for people who may not have insurance or can't afford the treatment.
Rick Bernard tells Action News Jax that all of these SEALs trained together 40 years ago and now they're riding together.

"That glue is still there 40 years later and we all just meshed and we're doing this together," Bernard said
The former SEALs started at Virginia Beach and they'll end at Fort Pierce, Florida, on Friday.
