NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. — Construction crews will be shifting northbound traffic on U.S. 301 starting Thursday.
The lanes will shift onto a new Norfolk Southern railroad overpass, near the entrance to Mulch Manufacturing, just south of Callahan.
Southbound traffic is already going over that new roadway.
Crews will then start building the new northbound railroad overpass.
Wide load vehicles are being advised to take alternate routes.
The construction is part of a $68 million project to widen U.S. 301 between Baldwin and Callahan by 2015.
