Neighbors report widespread mail mix-ups in Nocatee community

One couple said they received mail addressed to 13 different households

NOCATEE, Florida — Residents in the Reflections community in Nocatee say they are receiving mail intended for other households, raising concerns about privacy and security.

Neighbors who share cluster mailboxes say important documents, including credit card statements, checks and voter registration cards, have been ending up in the wrong mailboxes. One couple said they recently received mail addressed to 13 different households.

“We typically only get about 5 pieces of mail and they’re all bills. This time, we got about 30-40 pieces of mail,” resident Lou said.

Several neighbors have filed complaints about the issue. One resident received an email from a U.S. Postal Service customer service worker apologizing for the problem.

Action News Jax contacted USPS to find out what is causing the mail mix-ups. A representative said the agency is working to determine the cause.
