Neptune Beach 30-year tradition turns into Thanksgiving block party

NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. — Thousands of people flocked to Pete’s Bar at Neptune Beach Thursday morning for a 30-year-old tradition.

The streets of Neptune Beach turned into a block party as people dressed up in some of their favorite costumes to celebrate the holiday.

“We’re dressed up like two people who thought it was going to be colder than it is,” said partygoer Gary Allen.

Police here are also gearing up for the crowds tonight.

“When was the last time you’ve seen this many people get together having a cocktail and not one problem? Somebody bumps into you, just say happy Thanksgiving, that works,” said Allen.
