Jacksonville, Fl — A woman and man died in a westside house fire that is under investigation by the state fire marshal.
Jacksonville Fire and Rescue crews were called to McCargo Street, in a neighborhood near Eagle’s View Academy near I-10 and I-295 around 3:30 am.
Two people were pulled from the burning structure. The woman, whose name and age were not released, was declared dead. A second man was hospitalized with injuries, his condition is not known.
Hours later, fire personnel discovered a man’s body at the rear of the home. He was a white man, no other description was given.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says it has determined there was no power to the home. It’s not clear if the fire is suspicious. The JSO arson, fire and explosives unit will also be involved in the investigation.
We are working to learn more about the people involved and the cause of the morning fire.
