Onshore winds bring notable change in weather + tracking Tropical Storm Fiona

Jacksonville, Fl — We are enjoying some cooler temperatures inland, but a wide change of temperatures is expected with onshore winds. Morning lows will not fall off much at night, in the 80s, but temperatures won’t rise all that much.

Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says skies will be partly cloudy today with temperatures making it into the mid 80s with an onshore winds. A few scattered showers are likely tomorrow as well. An isolated embedded storm is possible today and tomorrow.

Scattered showers and an isolated storm continue into Saturday. An isolated shower possibility remains for Sunday. However, it should be mainly dry for the Jags game.

Temperatures in the afternoons will remain in the lower to mid 80s. There is a high rip current risk at area beaches today with enhanced onshore winds.

TROPICS: We are tracking a tropical storm “Fiona” about 600 east of the Leeward Islands. Fiona will reach the islands by Friday night and near Puerto Rico by Saturday. It appears the storm will begin to turn more northwest and eventually more north into early next week. That track would keep Fiona well east of Florida next week.
