BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. — A woman is in custody Monday after Bradford County Sheriff’s Office said she shot her live-in boyfriend to death in Starke. The sheriff’s office said Stephanie Johnson, 42, told deputies she killed David Wroblewski, 41, during the domestic-related incident at the home located at 1100 Meadows Drive.
Deputies said they received a call at 5:30 a.m. from Johnson’s son stating that his sister informed him that their mother just killed her boyfriend, a Bradford County Sheriff’s Office news release states.
Upon arriving at the scene an investigator encountered Johnson outside the home. Johnson made statements to law enforcement regarding a prolonged dispute between the couple, the news release states.
“It’s me and we have been fighting for the last days,” Johnson said to the investigator. Patrol deputies located Wroblewski on a bed inside the residence with a possible gunshot wound to the right side of his abdomen.
Deputies moved Wroblewski off the bed and initiated life-saving measures before personnel from Bradford Medical Services arrived to take over medical care, the news release states.
“The investigation is ongoing and exact charges will be determined at a later time,” the news release states.
