3:50 P.M. UPDATE:

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is searching a westside home where a woman was found dead in a “puddle of blood.”
JSO taped off the cul-de-sac on Mossbrook Court in the Cherokee Cove subdivision on Tuesday.
The house is a mile away from Chaffee Trail Elementary School.
JSO Homicide Unit Sgt. Steve Rudlaff said a caller told 911 at around 9:15 a.m. that there was a woman in the house lying in a puddle of blood.

“We do know there was extensive injuries. We do not know what caused those injuries,” said Rudlaff.

JSO has not publicly identified the woman who died.

Rudlaff said officers believe she was between 50 and 60 years old.

Property records show a woman owns the home, but JSO has not confirmed whether she was the woman found dead.

A woman who tells us she knows the woman who was found dead said she didn’t show up to work on Tuesday and her car is missing.
