Police: Suspect claimed he'd placed bomb in Jacksonville Beach bar

The Jacksonville Beach Police Department said on Monday that they do not know the person who called in a bomb and shooting threat at a popular bar.

The incident happened Saturday night at Surfer the Bar on 1st Street.

According to police, a person called authorities and identified himself as a white male and said that he had placed a pipe bomb in the bar -- and that he was going to start shooting people.

"I am really angry right now," the caller could be heard saying on a 911 call.

Dispatch asked the caller what his phone number was.

"I’m not gonna tell you that," the caller said. "I’m gonna [bleeping] kill these people."

Here's the call:

The Jacksonville Beach Police Department quickly roped off the area and evacuated the building, but didn't find anything. While the building was cleared, the suspect called again and said he was walking around the area with a megaphone.

Two males with megaphones were discovered nearby, but both were cleared of any wrongdoing, the the Jacksonville Beach Police Department said.

The two were questioned and described as "very cooperative."

The business was quickly reopened.

Huge shout out to JBPD for giving us the green light to keep the party going!!! Come on down and join the shenanigans...the “SATURDAY NIGHT SHENANIGANS” !!! #cheerstothegoodtimes
