More than 5,700 Publix associates volunteered at local nonprofit organizations in honor of Publix Serves Day. Publix Supermarkets is committed to helping the plight of the hungry and homeless in Publix's operating area, according to a press release. Here in North Florida, Publix associates volunteered at HabiJax projects throughout Downtown Jacksonville.
"Publix Serves empowers our associates, supports our communities and impacts countless nonprofit organizations throughout our operating area," said Maria, Brous, Publix director of media and community relations. "There is nothing more gratifying than to hear and see the impactful difference our associates are making in our communities each and every day."
