UPDATE 7:09 p.m.: Officials with the Florida Division of Forestry tell Nelson that the fire is 95% contained.
Nelson asked officials if a brush or debris burn was the cause of the fire. “We do not know that at this time, we will begin our investigation of the cause of the fire when it is safe to do so. We contain the fire and then we investigate,” Officials with Florida Forestry said.

UPDATE 6:13 p.m.: Action News Jax reporter Ryan Nelson is headed to the fire. Nelson has been speaking with officials to get updates on the fire. Officials tell Nelson the fire is now 75% contained and approximately 10 acres.

ORIGINAL: The Florida Division of Forestry said that one of its rangers is currently plowing around a large brush fire near Oak Ridge Road.
St. Johns County Fire Rescue said it had crews on scene as well.
The Florida Division of Forestry does not have an estimate on the size of the fire just yet. However, the spokesperson was able to confirm that the fire is 45% contained at this time.

The Florida Division of Forestry also said that there are no evacuations.
