JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police arrested and charged a man in connection with the stabbing death of a 54-year-old man.
Herbert Williams, accused of stabbing Keith Brown to death, was booked and charged at the Duval County Jail Friday.
Family and friends of Brown gathered Friday to mourn his death.
“I still walk through the house, and I feel like I call for him, and he don’t answer,” said Williams’ cousin James King Jr.
Police say Williams killed Keith Brown because he was walking with William’s girlfriend. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the girlfriend had been dating Williams on and off for about six years and was dating Brown at the same time.
Police said Brown was killed Thursday morning on Jacksonville’s Northside near the intersection of West 22nd St. and Boulevard Street.
Lt. Steve Gallaher recounted Williams’ girlfriend’s story.
"She said that Williams then pulled out a knife and stabbed (Brown) down in the side and then continues to stab him as he fell to the ground," Gallaher said.
Police say Williams was taken into custody shortly after the killing. Officers recovered the knife believed to be the murder weapon.
"Williams was interviewed. He admitted to the confrontation and stabbing Mr. Brown several times," Gallaher said.
Williams now faces murder charges.

King said they’re just trying to cope with the loss and move forward.
“We hung like three Musketeers. I'm going to miss him, but I know he's in a better place now,” King said.
In a report from JSO, it shows Williams has a lengthy criminal history that includes battery and drug possession.
Williams is being held on no bond. He is expected to appear in court on the murder charge in early November.
