Restaurant Report: BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse at River City Marketplace temporarily closed

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Before making weekend plans to dine out, check out this week’s Original Restaurant Report. Action News Jax’s Ben Becker reports what inspectors discovered at some of your favorite places to eat.

Becker’s first stop was BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse at River City Marketplace. State inspectors found a time/temperature safety violation, a floor drain backed up causing wastewater to come out, and raw food that was stored above ready-to-eat food. The restaurant was closed temporarily.

Taziki’s Mediterranean Café on Beach Boulevard near Suni Pines Drive was cited for time/temperature safety violations, an objectionable odor at the end of the cook line and a mold-like substance in an ice machine.

State inspectors say Iggy’s Bar & Grill on Bartram Oaks Walk near State Road 13 had an accumulation of food debris on the floor, a time/temperature safety violation, and a box of tortilla chips stored on the floor.

Becker’s final stop was the Krystal on Baymeadows Road near Interstate 95. It was cited for raw food stored above ready-to-eat- food, a walk-in door showing insulation, and a mold-like substance in an ice machine.

All the restaurants passed follow-up inspections.
