ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — This week all of the restaurants who topped the list of health violators were cited for temperature violations.
Action News visited Tempo Restaurant in historic St. Augustine, Florida. Health inspectors temporarily closed Tempo for having dozens of roaches, live flies in the kitchen, and a temperature violation for cold food that was too warm. The manager says even though the building's old age contributes to their problem, he’s stepping up pest control service.
“It’s usually about once a month, but we've increased it because they're doing some things with the building. They said that our restaurant was extremely clean but according to the regulations they are extremely strict and they had to shut us down for one day,” said the manager.
The Lime Lead Thai Restaurant in Jacksonville was cited for having weak dish machine chlorine, an employee working with food and equipment without washing his hands, and multiple cold food items that were too warm to serve.
Bento Café in St. Johns Town Center was written up for multiple violations including cold seafood held higher than 41 degrees, hot food held at lower than 135 degrees, and ready-to-eat food not sold within seven days.
