Restaurant Report: Wacko's Gentlemen's Club, other restaurants cited for violations, inspectors say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Your health and safety is the reason we go out every week to get you answers about the places you love to eat.

In this week's original Restaurant Report, Action News Jax's Ben Becker visited the Wacko's Gentlemen's Club to discuss the violations inspectors found.

Inspectors found the following violations at the adult entertainment club on Emerson Street near Spring Park Road:

  • Potentially hazardous food temperatures
  • Raw animal foods not properly separated
  • A handwash sink not accessible for employee use

Action News Jax reported in February that Wacko's had temporarily closed after inspectors found live roaches and roach droppings.

We tried to speak with management once again about the violations but they did not want to talk.

Casablanca on the Bay, located at Avenida Menedez and A1A,  was cited for:

  • 13 live roaches
  • 2 dead roaches
  • Food with mold-like growth

It was temporarily closed.

Inspectors said they found potentially hazardous food temperatures, no proof of state required employee training and no soap provided at a handwash sink at Morton's on East Coastline Drive and South Market Street.

Pirate's Cove Seafood Restaurant on San Jose Boulevard near University Boulevard was cited for:

  • Raw animal food stored over ready-to-eat food
  • Encrusted material on a can opener blade
  • Ice buildup in a walk-in freezer
