JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Health inspectors visited Bill’s Diner on Ramona Boulevard in Jacksonville. The health inspector saw 13 live roaches and 50 dead roaches. The cleaning solution was too strong when tested. Bill’s Diner was temporarily shut down for 24 hours and allowed to reopen after three follow-up inspections.

The health inspector went to China Garden on Old Kings Road in Jacksonville and reported seeing an employee not wash their hands long enough. The main health violation was the lack of a bathroom for public use. The manager told the health inspector there was a plumbing issue with the entire plaza. China Garden was temporarily shut down and allowed to reopen the next day when the plumbing issue was fixed.
A health inspector at Sonny’s BBQ of Starke issued a stop sale on milk, creamer and coleslaw due to temperature issues.The inspector found a blackish-green mold-like substance in the ice machine and the milk had to be thrown out because it was open with no expiration date marking. A follow-up inspection is needed.
