Health inspectors found three emergency orders to temporarily close restaurants.
The Lodge Restaurant at Ponte Vedra Beach was forced to shut down for a day when inspectors found nine violations, including four high-priority.
Inspectors issued a stop sale on potentially hazardous food due to temperature abuse, live roaches were found on the floor under the front cook line, and an employee was storing personal items above the food.
The restaurant was allowed to reopen after a second inspection.
The Restaurant Report visited Mr. Ed's Heavenly Barbecue on Blanding Boulevard. A health inspector shut the eatery down for a day after they found 13 violations, including four high-priority violations. Inspectors found an employee touching ready-to-eat food with bare hands, food held at the wrong temperature and live roaches by the front counter and in the kitchen.
The restaurant was allowed to reopen after a second inspection by health inspectors.
Los Loros Mexican Restaurant on Baymeadows Road was closed for a day when inspectors found 13 violations, including two high-priority.
The violations noted were live roaches, including one found in a cooler, toxic substances and chemicals stored in food prep areas with a potential for cross contamination. Health inspectors also found an accumulation of dead or trapped birds, rodents and insects in control devices.
Los Loros Mexican Restaurant was allowed to open back up after a second inspection the following day.
