Runners lining up to race in the Annual Ugly Sweater 5k

ST. JOHNS, Fla — The Winston Family YMCA located at 221 Riverside Ave, Jacksonville, is hosting its annual Ugly Sweater 5k this Saturday. Runners will line up at 9 a.m. to race along the St. Johns River all while sporting their best ugly sweaters and supporting Clay County Take Stock in Children.

Take Stock in Children provides mentoring, scholarships and hope to students facing poverty throughout the state of Florida. Their goal is to inspire students to work harder in school and aspire for education beyond high school. First Coast YMCA is pleased to be the only Y in the state to partner with and lead the Take Stock in Children program in Clay County.

During and after the race, the community is welcome to attend the FREE Winter at Winston Open House from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Here, guests can enjoy the first-ever unveiling of local photographer Darryl Green Jr.’s work, which will be displayed on the windows of the Winston Family YMCA in partnership with ArtRepublic Global.

The open house will also feature:

• Virtual Gaming

• Cookie Decorating

• Santa Workshop

• Ugliest Sweater Contest
