A JSO spokesperson said Ross was at a friend's house for a cookout when the shootout happened.

"We have to get these criminals off the street if we all want to be safe," Jordan explained.

Police say a bullet hit Ross in the back, killing her.

"You have three kids that are waking up without a mother every day now. I can't imagine how they feel but Mad Dads is going to try to help them move towards some closure by going out and trying to catch the killer or killers," mentioned Jordan.

Jordan is hoping her killer is caught soon.

"That's why Mad Dads continue to go out, to let the community know we can take responsibility of what is happening in our communities to remove these individuals that are hurting families," said Jordan.

Family members told Action News Jax the victim has two daughters and a son. None of the children were hurt.
