BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. — More than a dozen people are facing charges in Bradford County after a drug bust.
The Bradford County Sheriff's Office said operation Burning the Bushes began in August 2015. Through the investigation, deputies confirmed three men as main suppliers of cocaine into the county.
The trio, who were identified as George Lekreshian Bennett, Willis Antino Hankerson and Lance Quenton Hankerson, along with numerous associates and dealers, were all arrested. Although all three were originally residents of Bradford County, George Bennett had moved to Alachua County in an attempt to conceal his whereabouts, deputies said.
Deputies arrested Bennett and Lance Hankerson on Tuesday in Gainesville while the two were exchanging cocaine, deputies said. Willis Hankerson is still sought by police.
Deputies seized about 14 ounces of cocaine, almost 900 grams of marijuana, 17 grams of Ecstasy, and $18,000 in cash.
Deputies said arrest warrants have been obtained for Bennett, Willis Hankerson, Lance Hankerson, Jarvis Davis, Demetrice Hankerson, Cecil Woods Jr., Parviele Lee, Joshua McClellan, Joseph Edwards, Carlous Grissett, Bernard Beard, Todd Hankerson and Tray Hankerson.
Additional arrests could be made pending the investigation.
