Man shot, killed on Flanders Street, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was shot and killed on Flanders Street Saturday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

A sergeant tells Action News Jax that ShotSpotter picked up the sound of gunfire around 4 a.m.

When officers were on the way to the neighborhood, they got word a man had been shot. He died at the hospital, the sergeant said.

JSO had several blocks near Flanders roped off. They were focusing on an area at the corner of Flanders and 18th Street, where more than a dozen family and friends gathered after the shooting.
