St. Johns County Parks and Rec hosts third annual Family Color Run 5K on Nov. 14

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — The St. Johns County Parks and Recreation Department will host its third annual Family Color Run 5K on Saturday, Nov. 14. The event will begin at 9 a.m. at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds, located at 5840 SR 207 E. in Elkton.

The inaugural Color Run took place in November 2024 with dozens of runners and participation doubled in 2025 during the event’s second year. The 5K course is primarily off-road and includes color stations along the path where participants are doused in colored powder.

Registration for the 5K costs $25 per runner through the Florida Race Day website. Each registered participant receives a commemorative medal, professional timing services and access to the color stations along the course.

Tess Simpson serves as the community program manager for St. Johns County Parks and Recreation. “We were so excited to see the Color Run grow last year and we’re looking forward to making this year even bigger and more fun,” Simpson said. “It’s a great event for all ages, so grab your family and friends, wear something you can get colorful in and come have some fun with us!”
