The St. Johns County School District said Monday it is actively monitoring AI-generated social media posts featuring “The Cat in the Hat” that are circulating nationwide.
District officials confirmed that no credible direct or indirect threats have been identified.

The school district is reviewing content involving local schools in coordination with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Department of Education’s Office of Safe Schools.
Superintendent Brennan Asplen sent a safety message to district parents and guardians regarding the online posts.

“We take the safety of our students and staff seriously and will share additional updates if new information becomes available,” Asplen said in the update.
Schools across the district will operate on a normal schedule on Tuesday, Asplen said.
