Crash with injuries blocks all lanes of I-95 southbound in southern St. Johns County

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A crash with injuries on Interstate 95 in southern St. Johns County has all southbound lanes blocked, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

In a newly released report by FHP, a pickup truck with a trailer attached was driving southbound on Interstate 95 in the side lane. For reasons unknown, the gate on the trailer dropped open, causing the driver of the truck to lose control.

The pickup crashed into the median and overturned.

The St. Johns County Fire Rescue stated that they transported two patients by Life Flight and TraumaOne.

FHP said that the driver suffered serious injuries and a passenger is listed in critical condition.

According to FHP, the crash happened near mile marker 302, which is south of State Road 206 and north of U.S. 1.
