Some St. Johns County restaurants reopen after response to local COVID-19 cases

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — After dozens of people in Jacksonville reported COVID-19 diagnoses after going to bars and restaurants in the Jacksonville Beach area, many restaurants closed for professional cleaning and employee testing.

In nearby Ponte Vedra, bars and restaurants followed suit in an effort to stay ahead of the curve and keep patrons and employees safe.

Palm Valley Fish Camp reopened Saturday after closing for deep cleaning and testing employees.

Pusser’s reopened Saturday after closing for two days for deep cleaning and employee testing. Staff has been tested and a negative COVID-19 result is required to return to work. Pusser’s is only serving its outdoor section and downstairs bar.

Nona Blue Modern Tavern in Ponte Vedra, however, posted on its Facebook page Friday that several employees tested positive for COVID-19. The restaurant closed its doors and has not announced a reopening date.

We are working to confirm the status of other area restaurants. Check back for updates.
