SJSO: Deputy-involved shooting on State Road 207

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said there was a deputy-involved shooting on State Road 207.

QUICK NOTES:

The incident started as a police chase in Flagler County around 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
The suspect, who was allegedly wanted for several hit-and-runs, crashed, according to SJSO.
The suspect would not stop for Flagler County Deputies and entered St. Johns County.
St. Johns County deputies located the suspect.
The traffic was too heavy where deputies originally located the suspect to pull him over
Later, another deputy spotted the black truck and the suspect allegedly drove erratically on the wrong side of the road several times to avoid police
Finally, the suspect continued to S.R. 207 and continued driving on the wrong side of the road
The suspect crashed into a deputy and then an abandoned school bus
Deputies said they saw the suspect pull out a hand gun, and that’s when a deputy fired his weapon at the suspect, who is now dead.
No deputies were hurt.
Investigators have what is believed to be the suspect’s hand gun.
Three deputies were involved.
