ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said there was a deputy-involved shooting on State Road 207.
QUICK NOTES:
- The incident started as a police chase in Flagler County around 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
- The suspect, who was allegedly wanted for several hit-and-runs, crashed, according to SJSO.
- The suspect would not stop for Flagler County Deputies and entered St. Johns County.
- St. Johns County deputies located the suspect.
- The traffic was too heavy where deputies originally located the suspect to pull him over
- Later, another deputy spotted the black truck and the suspect allegedly drove erratically on the wrong side of the road several times to avoid police
- Finally, the suspect continued to S.R. 207 and continued driving on the wrong side of the road
- The suspect crashed into a deputy and then an abandoned school bus
- Deputies said they saw the suspect pull out a hand gun, and that’s when a deputy fired his weapon at the suspect, who is now dead.
- No deputies were hurt.
- Investigators have what is believed to be the suspect’s hand gun.
- Three deputies were involved.
