ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office needs your help finding a man accused of targeting people in area grocery stores.
Investigators are also looking for a woman who they said tried to spend hundreds of dollars on a credit card stolen by the man.

The man, who appeared on a surveillance video, is accused of stealing a woman’s credit card inside the Jenkins Street Publix in St. Augustine on Feb. 28.
The incident report describes what investigators found on surveillance video from the Jenkins St. Publix.
“While following [the victim] through the store we noticed a man in a blue long sleeve shirt, black pants, and a black hat with a white logo on it, following [her] around the store,” the report indicates. “The man appeared to look into [her] cart multiple times while [she] was shopping. [The victim] then left cart [her] unattended on the frozen food aisle and the man very clearly went into [her] cart and grabbed [her] credit card.”
Later that day, investigators said the woman they’re looking to identify showed up at a Target on U.S. 1 in St. Augustine using the same stolen credit card.
“The charges were, $124.28, $824, and $206. The only transaction that was completed was the $124.28,” the report states. “The time of the transactions were 1305 hours and 1310 hours. [The victim] has been reimbursed by [victim’s bank] at this time.”
The man appeared on a video wearing a blue, long-sleeve shirt, black pants, and a black hat with a white logo on it.
The woman who’s accused of later using the stolen card is described as possibly Hispanic and having black hair.
Deputies said the man was spotted on surveillance at another St. Johns County Publix in a similar incident.

“The Publix staff member also notified me the Publix at, 4255 US 1, South had an incident on January 13th, 2021 with an image of a potential suspect. When the staff member showed me the photo it was confirmed to be the suspect in this investigation wearing the same hat,” the report states.
