JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office investigated a suspicious package early Tuesday morning that was dropped off at River Point Behavioral Health.
JSO received the call around 12:30 a.m. The Bomb Squad arrived at the 6300 block of Beach Boulevard near Hickman Road. Traffic on Beach Boulevard was diverted until around 5:30 a.m. due to the investigation.
JSO said a red vehicle arrived at the facility and a man got out and dropped off a box at the front doors. The man then leaves in the vehicle.
It is not known if the man was a patient at the facility.
The staff and patients were moved to a safe place in the building.
The investigation is ongoing.
