Officers found a man in his early 30s with a gunshot wound to the neck. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue took him to a local hospital, where his injuries are listed as critical.
A short time later, a second victim, a man in his mid-30s, was located at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest. JSO said a friend had taken the victim there.
The man told officers he was involved in the same incident as the first victim. He is also in critical condition.
Sgt. Johnson said detectives have not been able to speak with either victim due to the severity of their injuries.
When officers entered the apartment where the shooting happened, they detained a man who was inside, the sheriff’s office said.
