INTERLACHEN, Fla. — Two more people in their 20s have been charged with neglect involving four children discovered in July in what police described as a “house of horrors” in Putnam County.
Officials with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said detectives on Wednesday arrested Alex Flynn, 24, and David Flynn, 23, of Interlachen on two counts each of child neglect connected to the case.
The investigation began earlier after the Florida Department of Children and Families investigated reports of the poor health of six-week-old infant living at the house.
The agency’s review led police to a home where they discovered horrific conditions, including animal feces, rotting floors, black mold, flies, cockroaches, rotting food and what police described as abused and neglected children.
Based on the discovery and a subsequent investigation, police charged Jodie Cannon, 26, Jordan Wilson, 30, Melissa Keal, 50, and John Keal, 52. The Flynns are related to the four individuals earlier charged with abuse and neglect.
Cannon, the Keals and Wilson also received additional charges this week while they remain in the Putnam County Jail, police said in a post on Facebook on Thursday.

The sheriff’s office says that upon being admitted to the hospital, the infant had a low heart rate, low body temperature and low weight. Without medical intervention, doctors say the infant would’ve died.
The new charges against the Flynns each stem from a wider ongoing investigation of child neglect by other family members at 170 Nettles Road in Florahome, police said.
Detectives determined police had previously responded to the home in September 2025 for possible child neglect when a babysitter reported the Flynns and Melissa Keal did not return three hours after they were supposed to.
At that time, three children left in the babysitter’s care had dirty diapers, food was not provided for the children’s dinner, and their feet were covered in feces.
The children at that time were given to another family member by DCF. A parenting plan for corrective actions was overseen by DCF and at that time deputies did not file criminal charges, pending compliance by the parents and Melissa Keal.
A condition for release for all six people if they make bond is that they are to have no unsupervised contact with minors.
