JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville mom says her kids were home when stray bullets came flying into her house, penetrating through her bathroom wall.
“That shouldn’t be part of kids’ lives, to worry about if they’re going to get shot inside their own house,” Beverly Hall said.

She said she was at work Friday night when she got a call from her oldest son.
Bullets had hit their home, piercing the walls of the bathroom she shares with her three kids, the youngest 5 years old.
“My heart was panicking for them,” she said. “Now, they’re scared to come inside the restroom or come inside the house because they think someone is going to shoot.”
Police say ShotSpotter reported gunshots on the street next to her house around 9:30 p.m.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office found a car shot up on McConihe Street. Officers say a man showed up at a hospital saying he was shot. He's expected to survive.

Action News Jax took a look at JSO crime map data and found there have been 73 violent crimes within a half-mile of the shooting in the past three months. That includes 21 crimes involving a deadly weapon.
“It’s bad that you have to worry what goes on when you go to a shopping center or the movies. But inside your own house? You don’t think something random would happen like this,” Hall said.
She said the violence needs to stop.
“Just stop the shootings, random shootings. You know, things in Jacksonville are just horrible.”
