Weekend changes to bring some showers, cooler air

Two more record warm days before cooler weekend changes

Jacksonville, Fl — We have two more record-challenging warm afternoons before some weekend changes.

Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says temperatures today will break a 1977 record of 86, as we push close to 90 degrees. It’s breezy with winds out of the north.

The wind really cranks up Friday and it stays warm. Buresh says we could hit 90 degrees, which would break the 2012 record of 88 degrees. Wind gusts could exceed 20 - 30 mph.

A cold front moves through Saturday morning, bringing a few showers with it. Temps will be cooler for the weekend, but we aren’t talking serious cold. Showers could impact the Gate River Run, but rainfall isn’t expected to amount to much. It’ll be breezy as well.

Morning temps will be down in the 40s and 50s Sunday & Monday with daytime highs in the 70s. Humidity will be lower, too.

THE PLAYERS week beings with nice weather as we hone in on the forecast for the championship rounds.
