Wicked announces $25 orchestra level auction as it flies into Jacksonville

The Broadway sensation "Wicked" returns to the Times-Union Center on November 20th and will play until December 1st.

Two and one-half hours prior to each performance of "Wicked," the Times-Union Box Office will collect registered names in a lottery drum for a drawing half-an-hour later. People whose names are drawn will then have access to a limited number of $25 orchestra seats to "Wicked," available for cash only. This lottery is available only in-person at the Times-Union Center box office, with a limit of two tickets per person. Lottery participants must have valid photo identification when submitting an entry form and, if chosen when purchasing tickets.

Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, "Wicked" looks at what unfolded long before Dorothy crashed landed in Oz, but from a different angle. A young woman born with emerald-green skin, shows extraordinary talent, but her fiery smarts are misunderstood. When this jaded woman meets an exceptionally popular bubbly blonde, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships until the world steps in. One is labeled "good," and the other "wicked."

With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz composing the play's captivating score, The New York Times called "Wicked," "the defining musical of the decade."

Having recently celebrated its 15th anniversary on Broadway, "Wicked" is the winner of more than 100 international awards including a Grammy and three Tony's. The dramatic musical has been performed in over 100 cities in 16 countries around the world.
