‘With heavy hearts’ Black Sheep restaurant at Five Points is closing

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — An iconic establishment in the Five Points district is closing for good.

Described as a casual eatery plating locally sourced Southern chow plus a full bar serving craft beers and cocktails, Black Sheep restaurant announced on its Facebook page that it will be closing its doors for the very last time on Sat., May 27.

The social media post reads:

“With heavy hearts we are announcing our closing at the end of May. Saturday, May 27 will be our last shift. We want to express our gratitude to all our Black Sheep employees, both current and alumni. We’d also want to thank all of our patrons from over the years, it has been our pleasure to serve you! Please come see us over the next four weeks as we say goodbye to our 5 Points and Riverside friends, family and supporters. It’s been an awesome 13 years serving our community.”

Black Sheep opened its doors in 2012 and highlighted itself as local, serving new American-style food with a beautiful rooftop bar and lounge.
