Woman dies after hitting light pole on I-95

DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol reported a deadly crash on I-95 near the I-295 Exit 337 ramp early Sunday morning.

STORY: One man injured in shooting on Hubbard St.

At approximately 12:05 a.m., a 44-year-old woman was driving an SUV south on I-95. For reasons still unknown, the car left the roadway onto the grass shoulder that separates I-95 and the exit ramp for I-295, before colliding with a light pole.

The driver died instantly and the car came to its final rest, facing west near the light pole.

FHP is still investigating the cause of the crash.
