Woman says her car was damaged at parking lot near airport

A local woman said she came home from a trip to find the car she parked at a lot near Jacksonville International Airport damaged.

Jennifer Destasio said she took her car to Jetway Parking near JIA and then hopped a flight for work.

Destasio said she’s been a loyal customer to for quite some time. But this trip was different. When she picked her car up, there was damage. She said at first, Jetway agreed to pay for the damage.

We went to Jetway Parking. The owner, Sean Nicholson, said the damage to Destasio’s car didn't happen on his lot, and that she waited until the day after she picked up her car to report it.

“Now he has completely turned around and trying to say it's my fault that I'm lying and making false claims and being very negative and derogatory about my personal character,” Destasio said.

"The main thing is after a customer leaves the property if they didn't claim it here, it could've happened anywhere," Nicholson said.

While looking into this story, we discovered through the Better Business Bureau that Jetway Parking has received two complaints in the last three years, and has a C+ rating.

One of those complaints is similar to Destasio's. Adam Smith complained "about a dent and scratch in the rear passenger side door" adding that the "owner of Jetway Parking became extremely defensive denied responsibility for the damage."
