Two women were arrested Thursday in Jacksonville on suspicion that they tried to engage in prostitution.

An undercover detective, who was posing as a monger, arrested Rosa Beatrice Anderson, 43, on the 2800 block of New Kings Road after she agreed to perform oral sex for $30, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office reported.

The detective allegedly found a crack pipe and a push rod in her purse. Anderson is also charged with possessing drug paraphernalia with intent to use it.

Another undercover detective arrested Brittany Nicole Todd, 28, at Lane Avenue and I-10 after she agreed to perform oral sex for $30, JSO said.

Todd is also being charged with having and intending to use drug paraphernalia. She has been previously arrested with a different last name.

Both women were taken to a pretrial detention facility.

The arrests were part of a citywide effort to reduce prostitution in response to ongoing citizen complaints.
