Yulee inmate first woman to receive GED in jail

An inmate in a Nassau County jail is the first woman inmate to receive a GED while in jail, according to the Nassau County Sheriff's Office.

Devonna Williams graduated from their Inmate GED program and obtained her high school diploma on Tuesday.

Williams is serving a six-month sentence for selling marijuana.

When she finishes her sentence, Williams plans to go to Florida State College of Jacksonville and eventually either join the military or open her own business.

She has served four months of her sentence.
