Jacksonville Police investigate shooting in apartment complex on Franklin Street

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting reported at 3:45 pm on the 800 block of Franklin St.

The call came in from reports of an individual suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim, a 21-year-old black male was inside the lobby of the apartment complex when an unknown suspect entered the establishment and shot them.

The victim has been transported by Jacksonville Fire & Rescue with a single gunshot wound to the hand, and is currently in stable condition.

Police say the at-large suspect fled in an unknown direction from the complex. The description is a 5′9″ tall black male around 25-30 years old wearing all black clothing and a ski mask.

Detectives with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit are currently conducting the investigation regarding this case.
