Restaurant Report: Violations found at The Cheesecake Factory in Town Center area by inspectors

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Your health and safety is the reason we go out every week to get you answers about the places where you love to eat. In this week’s original Restaurant Report, Action News Jax anchor Phil Amato tells you about violations that inspectors found at local restaurants.

Health inspectors found violations at a Town Center area restaurant in Jacksonville: The Cheesecake Factory.

According to the inspection, there were seven high-priority violations, including an employee with an exposed core/cut/burn or wound while handling food, food temperature issues and flying insects in the kitchen.

Sawa Sushi on Bowden Road was temporarily closed after finding live roaches. The inspector said there were eight live roaches crawling on both sides of the reach-in cooler on the cook line. There were also four intermediate violations at the restaurant.

At Mojitos Caribbean Cuisine Bar and Grill on Philips Highway, a warning was issued when state inspectors said they found seven high-priority violations, including live insects in the kitchen, raw animal foods not properly separated from one another and a toxic substance being stores by or with food.
