Coronavirus: Florida police foundation donates flowers to assisted living residents

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A South Florida police foundation turned disappointment into joy this weekend.

When the nonprofit Jupiter Police Foundation had to cancel its second annual Policeman’s Ball because of concerns about the spread of the coronavirus, the organization was left with plenty of flowers.

Rather than throw the flowers away, foundation members took them to residents at assisted living facilities in Palm Beach County, WPTV reported.

“Everybody’s been really appreciative. They’ve been very receptive and appreciate it, and it’s just been a really positive thing for us. So, we are happy to do it,” David Schultz, of the Jupiter Police Foundation, told the television station.

Foundation members delivered more than 20 boxes of flowers to private facilities, including Courtyard Gardens of Jupiter and Jupiter Medical Center, WPTV reported.
