Crocodile, snakes, lizards removed from Wisconsin home, police say; man arrested

APPLETON, Wis. — A Wisconsin man is facing multiple charges after police removed a crocodile, snakes, lizards and several other animals from an Appleton home.

According to WBAY-TV, Appleton police arrested Kyle Komp, 21, on disorderly conduct and concealed weapons charges Friday after responding to a reported disturbance at a south side home. He was booked into the Outgamie County Jail, the outlet reported.

Authorities also recommended charging Komp with a concealed weapons violation in Calumet County, police said in a news release Sunday.

“Due to the complexity of the ongoing investigations, which include the welfare of various animals and reptiles, the Appleton Police Department’s Animal Control Unit and humane officer were summoned to assist in the case,” the release said. “A search warrant was executed at the south side residence, and numerous animals and reptiles were removed, among other things. The investigation into this matter remains active.”
