MARION COUNTY, Fla. — A motorcyclist died Friday after crashing into a bear on a Florida road, investigators said.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the motorcycle operator, who has not been identified, was flung from his bike after hitting the bear around 11 p.m. at State roads 40 and 19, WFTV reported.
The 42-year-old rider was not wearing a helmet, WCJB reported. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.
The bear died after being struck, investigators said.
