The products won’t officially be available until after Thanksgiving, but Harry Styles on Monday unveiled his own gender-neutral beauty brand, Pleasing.
Styles, the boundary-pushing pop star and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, said in an interview with Dazed that his goal is to boost the confidence of his customers, no matter which products attract them.
“I don’t think being beautiful or feeling beautiful is about looking good. When people are happy and glowing, they’re radiating. And that’s what I think the products do. It’s about helping you feel beautiful,” Styles told the magazine, People reported.
Styles also told Dazed that Pleasing started as a “fun little project” through which he expressed himself with nail polish colors inspired by “little moments of joy,” including colors he spotted on flowers or wallpaper, Forbes reported.
The new line’s first drop includes four nail polish shades, an illuminating serum and a lip and eye treatment all inspired by pearls, which feature heavily in the accessories Styles frequently dons, the magazine reported.
According to Forbes, Pleasing, which began accepting advance orders on Monday, targets both men and women with products ranging in price from $20 to $35.
“When we decided Pleasing would make beauty products, I wanted to be sure they were something I would use. I didn’t want to make products to mask people. I wanted to highlight them and make them feel beautiful,” Styles said in a prepared statement obtained by People.
Meanwhile, the former One Direction member is now the latest musician to launch a personal makeup and skincare line, joining the entrepreneurial ranks of Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande and Pharrell Williams, Forbes reported.
