‘I will always be thinking of you’: Family, friends remember Massachusetts woman killed in crash

DUXBURY, Mass. — Family and friends are remembering a young woman from Massachusetts whose life was tragically cut short following a weekend car crash.

Molly Caoilainn Sullivan-Cameron, 21, of Hanover, succumbed to her injuries at a Boston hospital Tuesday. She was severely hurt after her car collided with a tree on Route 3 southbound in Duxbury around 10 a.m. Sunday. As a result of her injuries, she was flown from Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Plymouth to the Trauma Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

Molly’s middle name, Caoilainn, means "slender" and "fair" in Gaelic, which Molly’s father, Donald Cameron, said described her perfectly.

Molly was described as a butterfly by her brother, Ryan Cameron, a girl who touched everyone as she flew through life.

An avid athlete, Molly played ice hockey for the combined Hanover-Cohasset high school hockey team. She was also a goalie for the Hanover field hockey team, which went to the state finals against Watertown in 2016.

Donald told WFXT-TV that his family hopes their heartbreaking loss will be the saving grace for other families, as they donate Molly’s organs to hopefully save other people in life-or-death situations.

“We prayed for a miracle and we came to discover she was the miracle,” Kathy Sullivan, Molly’s mother, said. “She will help so many others live."

Donald described Molly as an avid animal lover who attended The University of Maine her freshman year to begin a career as a veterinarian. In fact, Molly loved animals so much, she and her friends would occasionally skip class to volunteer at an animal shelter located near their campus.

Molly’s friends have been sharing beautiful messages on Facebook about how she left a lasting impact on their lives.

“I’m so proud of who you are and I’m so happy to have all the memories I do with you,” Molly’s former roommate, Hannah Dubuc, wrote. “Thank you for taking such a huge role in helping mold who I am and who I will be.”

Allen Dorn posted, “The person you’ve become, the lives you’ve touched and the legacy you started will live on forever.”

Most recently Molly was enrolled at Quincy College. Donald said she often commuted to class with her close friend, Mike Foley.

“For those who don’t know Molly, she was the coolest, funniest, smartest and most loving and caring girl that you could have ever had the privilege of meeting,” Foley shared. “I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to call you a best friend. May you rest in the sweetest peace.”

In addition to her parents and brother, Molly also leaves behind her boyfriend, Mike Perry, who stayed at her bedside following the crash.

“I will always be thinking of you, like you’re right by my side,” Perry said. “You’re my favorite!"

Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
